SK Telecom has officially launched its AI-driven veterinary X-ray image diagnosis assistance service, 'X Caliber', in Australia.
This innovative service leverages AI technology to analyze X-ray images of dogs and cats in just around 15 seconds.
By utilizing cloud storage, X Caliber eliminates the need for separate servers within veterinary hospitals, allowing veterinarians to access and examine AI-generated diagnoses on their mobile devices or PCs from anywhere, at any time.
X Caliber boasts impressive sensitivity rates, with an accuracy range of 86-94%. Specifically, it achieves a 94% detection rate for 16 different abnormal patterns in abdominal X-ray images of dogs, 88% for 10 different abnormalities in chest X-ray images, and 86% for 7 different abnormalities in musculoskeletal X-ray images.
This launch follows SKT's strategic partnership with ATX Medical Solutions, a key player in Australia's medical device industry, initiated in November 2023.
Through collaborative efforts, including beta testing, X Caliber is now available for use in over 100 veterinary clinics across Australia.
Australia, known for its high pet ownership rates, is an ideal market for X Caliber. With over two-thirds of households estimated to own pets, totaling around 29 million as of January 2024, the demand for advanced veterinary services is substantial.
On May 27-31, SKT and ATX will showcase X Caliber at the Australian Veterinary Association (AVA) Conference 2024 in Melbourne, one of the premier events for veterinary professionals in the country.
In addition to its Australian expansion, SKT has inked a commercial agreement with MEDIVET Pet Hospital & Clinic, Indonesia's largest premium veterinary hospital chain.
This deal not only marks SKT's entry into the Indonesian market but also serves as a gateway to broader opportunities in the Southeast Asian region for introducing X Caliber's cutting-edge diagnostic capabilities.
